From Screens to Success: Cyber Academy of South Carolina Celebrates National Online Learning Day

Stories & Spotlights

Interest in virtual schools continues to thrive five years after the COVID-19 pandemic turned the education and entire world upside down. A recent survey by the National School Choice Awareness Foundation found that 60% of parents considered sending at least one of their kids to a new school last year, and 27% of those parents explored a full-time online option.

This shift reflects a wider transformation in education. More parents are recognizing the value of personalized learning that adapts to their children’s needs. Online learning challenges the status quo of the traditional school model and encourages us to imagine what learning can look like.

At Cyber Academy of South Carolina (CASC), families have found a school with experience, stability, and a long-standing commitment to student success. For over 10 years, CASC has provided students with a flexible alternative to traditional classrooms, helping them thrive in an environment that prioritizes both academics and well-being.

On September 15 – National Online Learning Day – we share a few key reasons it continues to be transformative for so many families across the state:

  1. Flexibility

CASC breaks free from the constraints of the one-size-fits-all traditional model, placing flexibility and personalized learning at the center. Whether a student needs to move at a different pace or benefit from one-to-one instruction, online learning allows them to engage in a way that works best for them.

  1. Academic Support

Online learning at CASC also offers a strong academic support system to guide students every step of the way. Students benefit from small group instruction, enrichment activities, gamified learning, and individualized help from state-certified teachers who bring knowledge, dedication, and years of practice in helping students succeed in a virtual environment.

  1. Safety

Online learning at CASC gives families the peace of mind that comes with learning at home. Research shows that a sense of safety supports stronger classroom engagement, academic achievement, and high school completion. It’s also associated with lower symptoms of anxiety and depression.

  1. Possibilities

CASC prepares students for the future by immersing them in innovative technology and hands-on experiences. Students develop essential life skills such as critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration – all in an engaging, interactive environment. CASC also offers students the opportunity to earn college credits or gain job-ready certificates while still in high school. These opportunities inspire students to look toward the future with confidence.

This National Online Learning Day, we celebrate the strong foundation CASC has built for students and families across the state. Online learning is more than an option here – it’s a proven tradition of success.
