From Virtual Classroom to Statehouse: How CASC Senior Ainsley Became a Leader in School Choice Advocacy

When Ainsley first enrolled at Cyber Academy of South Carolina, she wasn’t just looking for an adaptable learning environment—she was stepping into a future filled with opportunities that would allow her to thrive. Now, at just 16 years old, Ainsley is not only on track to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree from Greenville Technical College, but she’s also a powerful advocate for school choice, inspiring students across South Carolina.
Ainsley’s passion for education policy began at age 12 when she became a student ambassador for Erskine College’s Charter Institute. Since then, she has championed the importance of school choice, speaking at committee meetings with state legislators, and advocating for students who, like her, have found success in a non-traditional learning environment.
Ainsley Takes the Stage at National School Choice Week
In January, Ainsley had the opportunity to speak at the 2025 South Carolina Capitol Celebration for National School Choice Week. Standing before hundreds of families at the Statehouse in Columbia, she shared her story—one that underscores why school choice is so vital for students looking to personalize their education. Her powerful message didn’t go unnoticed, catching the attention of media outlets and state leaders alike.
In case you missed it, Ainsley was featured in an interview on WIS 10 News, where she discussed how school choice has shaped her educational journey and opened doors to remarkable academic and leadership opportunities. Watch her interview here.
Paving the Way for Future Leaders
Ainsley’s ambitions extend far beyond her current achievements. With plans to attend college to study Political Science and Education, with a minor in American Sign Language, she hopes to one day serve as South Carolina’s State Superintendent of Education. Her dedication to advocacy and education policy is proof that school choice doesn’t just provide options—it empowers students to become leaders and changemakers in their communities.
We are so proud of you, Ainsley!
